Cinema City opens in Walbrzych, Poland. Cinema City is now in 18 cities in Poland.

Today Cinema City International opens its 29th multiplex in Poland in the city of Walbrzych. Cinema City in Galeria Victoria has 7 screens and 1 622 seats and it’s equipped with 3 digital projectors. Poland is the largest market of operation for Cinema City. The Company has 29 multiplexes with 323 screens in the country and 5 Orange IMAX theatres.

“Cinema City in Walbrzych is our 29th cinema in Poland. This country is our largest market of operation nevertheless we continue to develop our chain here and we develop it not only by opening new sites but also by improving the standard. We are digitalizing Cinema Cities across Poland and also in Walbrzych we have installed 3 digital projectors. This cinema is also added to our recent development of Internet ticket sales system ” said Moshe (Mooky) Greidinger, CEO of Cinema City, the largest multiplex cinema operator in Central & Eastern Europe and in Israel. Our plans for Poland assume a number of new openings. Next month we are going to open our 30th cinema in the country, in Bytom, which will be followed by five other multiplexes in the coming two years.”


Cinema City is the largest cinema operator in Poland and Poland is the largest country of operation for the Company. In the 1st half 2010 revenues from the Polish market accounted for almost 52% of CCI’s revenues and they totalled EUR 60.4 million (growth of 27.4% vs the 1st half of 2009). Cinema City sold 7.6 million tickets in the first six months of 2010, what was 50.0 % of all admissions sold by CCI during this time. In Poland the Company operates 46.5 % of its screens and 106 halls are digital. Recently the Company has implemented its own Internet ticket sales system across the country. In Poland Cinema City is also a leader of cinema advertising run by its subsidiary New Age Media. The film distribution in the Group is run by Forum Film Poland being exclusive representative of the Walt Disney Studio in the country.

Cinema City International is the largest multiplex cinema operator in Central & Eastern Europe and in Israel. The Company operates 71 multiplexes with 694 screens, in 6 countries (Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Israel). There are 39 more multiplexes under development, which will offer 394 new screens. In addition, Cinema City is actively involved in cinema related advertising and film distribution.
In 2009 Cinema City sold 27,5 million tickets in six countries, 23.8% more compared to 2008.
The Cinema City group employs over 3,000 people in 6 countries.
