Cinema City Allee opens in Allee centre in Budapest (12 November 2009)
Second multiplex in Budapest opened
Cinema City opens today its second multiplex in Budapest the capital city of Hungary offering 13 screens and 1 692 seats. The cinema is equipped with 3 digital projectors allowing screening films in 3D. Following this opening Cinema City will be running 36 screens and 1 IMAX theatre in Budapest and 13 cinemas with 115 screens in the whole country.

On Pest side CC Arena, which we opened 2 years ago, and is today the Number 1 Cinema in Hungary, and CC Allee on the Buda side” said Moshe J. Greidinger, CEO of Cinema City, the largest multiplex cinema operator in Central & Eastern Europe and in Israel. “The new opening, in such strategic location is for sure increasing CC exposure in the city, and is definitely an important addition for our activity in Hungary in all lines of Business”.
In Hungary Cinema City operates 13 multiplexes with 115 screens and 1 IMAX theatre. The Company has installed 15 digital projectors, all with 3D devices, to offer the best viewing experience for clients across the country. Cinema City has a strong market position in the Hungarian market. In 2008 in Hungary Cinema City sold 3.3 million tickets (+ 22% compared to 2007) and H1 of 2009 continues to show growth. Hungarian screens of Cinema City represent 18% of the total number of the Company’s screens.
In Hungary Cinema City is also distributing films being exclusive representative of the Walt Disney Studio and important independent producers. New Age Media in Hungary is running cinema advertising.
