Forum Film Bulgaria will become the new Disney theatrical distributer (15 October 2009)
Forum Film Bulgaria, established early this year, is an affiliate of Cinema City International group, and Bulgaria will become the forth territory for the group to be the Disney distributer. Forum Film Israel has been a Disney distributer for over 50 years, Forum Poland since 2003 and Forum Hungary since 2005.
Mooky Greidinger, Cinema City International CEO said “We are proud and honored to become Disney distributer in Bulgaria and by that extend our strategic relations with the Studio. As everywhere else the group will bring it’s “know how” and experience gained in other markets to Bulgaria and we hope that together with our strong local team, we will generate great results”. Greidinger added “we look forward to the great upcoming movies to follow “princess and the frog” such as “Alice in wonderland” with Johnny Depp “Prince of Persia”, “the new movie from the “Mega” producer Jerry Bruckheimer, and this summer the mega hit “Toy Story 3” from Disney-Pixar. Forum will start its distribution with the new animated hit “The princess and the frog” which will premier in Bulgaria on 25/12/09. The movie is a modern twist of the classic tale which marks the return to the musical and the traditional 2D hand-drawn animation by Walt Disney Animation Studios. Princess and the Frog is first in a remarkable slate coming from Disney studio for 2010.
Cinema City International is the largest multiplex cinema operator in Central & Eastern Europe and in Israel. As at the end of 2009 the Company will operate 70 multiplexes with 679 screens, in 6 countries (Poland (321 screens), the Czech Republic (47 screens), Hungary (116 screens), Romania (57 screens), Bulgaria (25 screens) and Israel (113 screens). In addition, Cinema City is actively involved in cinema related advertising and film distribution.
In 2008 Cinema City sold 22.2 million tickets in six countries, 12% more compared to 2007.
The Cinema City group employs over 3,000 people in 6 countries.
