New promotion of Orange and Cinema City


New promotion Orange Wednesdays starts on 22 April in Cinema City and Orange IMAX in Poland. Each subscriber, pre-paid and mix client of Orange, after sending an sms, can buy on Wednesdays two tickets paying for one in all Cinema City multiplexes and Orange IMAX theatres in Poland.

In this activity our dedicated customers and new customers, if they are Orange users, can visit each multiplex on Wednesday at very preferable terms”- said Moshe J. Greidinger, CEO of Cinema City, the largest multiplex cinema operator in Central & Eastern Europe and in Israel. “This promotion is a new step in our strategy to gain as promotional partners the top companies in the market. Much of this cooperation can be achieved thanks to Cinema City wide spread presence, which will grow further this year. ”-he added.

Orange Wednesdays promotion starts on 22 April 2009. After sending an sms the client is receiving a code. In the cinema the cashier can additionaly ask for the last 6 digits of the phone number. Promotion tickets can be bought once per week only on Wednesday following the date of sms (until 11:59 pm). Promotion is not extended to subsequent Wednesdays. Clients can buy two tickets paying for one in each Cinema City multiplex (3D films excluded) and in Orange IMAX in Poland. Promotion cannot be combined with other promotions. „Orange Wednesdays” is an international project already offered to clients in Great Britain, Romania and Israel. Start of promotion will be accompanied by a media campaign in the cinemas, TV, press and Internet. Special Orange spots were produced to advertise this promotion with appearance of popular actors such as Rob Lowe or Sean Austin.

Finally Greidinger added: "We all saw in the past year that cinemagoing had been becoming "trendier" than ever and I am convinced that with this Orange promotion the habit of going to the cinema will grow a step forward".


In Poland Cinema City operates 25 multiplexes with 278 screens and 5 Orange IMAX theatres. Cinema City is a leader on the Polish market with 34% market share in the number of admissions in 2008. In 2008 in Poland Cinema City sold 12.6 million tickets (+ 5,7% compared to 2007). In 2009 in Poland Cinema City plans to open cinemas in Bielsko Biała, Płock, Częstochowa and Kraków.

Cinema City International is the largest multiplex cinema operator in Central & Eastern Europe and in Israel. The Company operates 64 multiplexes with 592 screens, in 6 countries (Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Israel).
