Cinema City is operating 100 cinemas Cinema City signed lease agreement to operate an existing multiplex in Cluj, Romania

Cinema City International and Polus Transilvania Companie de Investitii SA, subsidiary of Immofinanz, have signed a long-term lease agreement to lease space in the shopping center Polus Center in Cluj, Romania. The new multiplex of Cinema City has 8 screens and 1800 seats.. Cinema City in Polus Center in Cluj is the Company’s 100th multiplex. Cinema City operates 974 screens in the CEE and Israel.

 

“Today we went through the doorway of 100 cinemas  and we are very proud of this fact. Today’s agreement takes us closer to another magical number of 1,000 screens, which we will also achieve in the coming quarters. Expansion of our chain together with delivering of the top service to our customers are priorities for Cinema City. We have a clear intention to continue our growth in our countries of operation and to consider good opportunities to enter new geographies.” said Moshe (Mooky) Greidinger CEO of Cinema City International.

 

Cinema City operations in Romania comprise operating a chain of 15 cinemas with 142 screens including the large 3D IMAX theatre in Cinema City Cotroceni in Bucharest, cinema advertising run by New Age Media Romania and film distribution run by Forum Film Romania. In Romania Cinema City is implementing its most intensive program of organic growth. The Company opened its first cinemas in the country in December 2007 and since then follows up with development of the cinema circuit.  The Company has currently signed over 24 binding lease agreements for over 230 screens.

 

 

CINEMA CITY INTERNATIONAL (Cinema City) is the largest multiplex cinema operator in Central & Eastern Europe and in Israel. The Company operates 100 multiplexes with 974 screens, in 7 countries (Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Israel). There are 34 more multiplexes under development, which will offer over 360 new screens. In addition, Cinema City is actively involved in cinema related advertising and film distribution.  

 

 

In 2012 Cinema City sold 36.3 million tickets in 7 countries, 2.5% more compared to 2011.
The Cinema City group employs over 4,000 people in 7 countries.
