Cinema City and Inter IKEA Center Polska SA signed a binding lease agreement for cinema space in the new IKEA center in Lublin, Poland

The new multiplex of Cinema City will be located in the new center of IKEA in Lublin. The cinema will have 9 screens and will be fully digital with the top 3D projecting equipment. Cinema City in IKEA center will be the Company’s second multiplex in Lublin.

We plan to consider best locations in key cities to open the top-end cinema venues and to offer our clients the best cinemas and best service.”


The new IKEA center in Lublin will be constructed on a 29 ha plot and will be composed of the Swedish furniture shop and a modern shopping gallery with 150 shops and service points. The total leasable area of the center is 80 000 sqm. IKEA plans to start construction in summer 2013 and to open the center towards the end of 2014.


In Lublin Cinema City operates an 8screen successful multiplex in Lublin Plaza shopping mall since 2007. In Poland Cinema City is a leader of the cinema market. The Company operates 339 screens in 31 multiplexes including 5 IMAX theatres and the first 4DX auditorium in Arkadia, Warsaw. Cinema City continues to develop its cinema chain in Poland. The Company has signed 7 lease agreements for future multiplexes with over 80 screens and it continues analyzing subsequent potential locations in the country.


CINEMA CITY INTERNATIONAL (Cinema City) is the third largest cinema operator in Europe and the largest multiplex cinema operator in Central & Eastern Europe and in Israel. The Company operates 100 multiplexes with 974 screens, in 7 countries (Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Israel). There are 35 more multiplexes under development, which will offer over 370 new screens. In addition, Cinema City is actively involved in cinema related advertising and film distribution.  


In 2012 Cinema City sold 36.3 million tickets in 7 countries, 2.5% more compared to 2011.
The Cinema City group employs over 4,000 people in 7 countries.
